By this point in time, almost everyone has heard about BOTOX®. It is something that is regularly talked about on television shows, in the movies, and online. It is not something that is just used by rich and famous individuals anymore. Now it is being used in many clinics across the United States and around the world. So, your family members, neighbors, and coworkers may be using BOTOX®. This is one of the most effective ways for you to refresh your appearance.

BOTOX® is not designed to treat all kinds of wrinkles. You may actually have not been aware that you can experience different types of wrinkles. BOTOX® is designed to treat dynamic wrinkles. These wrinkles happen because of the contraction of your muscles. Each time your muscles contract when you smile or frown, the skin on top of them moves. As many years go by and these expressions are made again and again, that skin starts to crease. So, BOTOX® is skillfully injected into those facial muscles in order to relax them. This leads to a refreshed and rejuvenated facial appearance.

BOTOX® can be used in almost all of the facial muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles. For example, it can be used in the muscles in the forehead in order to stop creases from forming right in between the eyebrows. It is very likely that you have seen those wrinkles that look like the number 11. Each indent forms right at the inner corner of the brow. When a person was in their younger years, their skin would bounce back to normal after making an expression that involved their forehead muscles. However, as the years have gone by and they have made that expression again and again and as their skin has lost volume and changed throughout the years, now they have those wrinkles that look like the number 11.

BOTOX® can also be used to treat crow’s feet. Crow’s feet are what you have at the outer corners of your eyes. They usually only appeared in your younger years when you squinted or smiled. However, as the years have passed and they have become etched in your face, they are there all of the time, no matter if you are smiling or squinting.
