Quickly Lift, Smooth and Contour

Eminence Medical Aesthetics offers PDO threads (by NovaThreads) in Princeton, NJ. NovaThreads are the most advanced absorbable threads on the market and offer a truly non-surgical facelift that can enhance and take years of your appearance! With this exciting aesthetic treatment the clinician uses temporary, absorbable sutures to suspend facial or neck skin back slightly in order to produce a visible “lift” safely and effectively. In addition to lifting the skin, threads also promote the body’s healing response, causing it to direct large surges of collagen to treated areas. As a result PDO Threads can lift your skin, smooth fine lines/wrinkles, define your jawline, raise your brows and more.

With PDO Threads there is no scarring and only the possibility of minor swelling/bruising post treatment, making it a much less risky option than a traditional surgical facelift. Results are immediate and continue to enhance as the body heals and produces more collagen around the treated sites. One treatment is generally sufficient to achieve desired results and treatment can be repeated yearly, if needed.

What parts of the face/body can be treated with PDO Threads?

PDO Threads are most commonly placed in the upper and lower cheeks, the upper lip, the area below the chin to prevent drooping, the neck to reverse skin crepiness, décolletage to prevent lines as well as the stomach and knees to lift and smooth skin.

What are the different types of PDO NovaThreads?

NovaThreads is made from a specialized material called PDO that over time naturally reabsorbs into the body. There are differentiate shape threads used for different purposes: Smooth Threads – Used for skin rejuvenation, collagen stimulation, and firmness. Barbed Threads – Contain small barbs on them that, in addition to stimulating collagen production, allow for the skin to be pulled and lifted. Twisted Threads – Add a small amount of volume and work great as support for smaller wrinkles and lines. Based on your anatomy, age and skin texture, your clinician will recommend the most suitable NovaThreads for your needs.

What is recovery like after PDO Threads ?

Similar to most injections, there is minimal risk of swelling and bruising (although most threads are injected using a cannula, which significantly reduces risk of bruising). Mild discomfort may be experienced in the treatment area for one to two weeks. Generally, people can resume normal life activities (work, social outings etc.) right after their treatment.

How long do results from PDO Threads last?

Results from PDO Threads may last up to six months. But more importantly, the collagen produced through the PDO treatment can actually last up to two years! Therefore, you can enjoy both immediate and long term results following the PDO procedure.

Who Is a good candidate for PDO Threads?

Anyone who wants an alternative to facelift surgery in order to decrease or prevent the loss of collagen or to reduce signs of aging is a good candidate for PDO Threads.

How should I prepare for my PDO Threads treatment?

If possible, to help avoid swelling or bruising you may choose to avoid medications or foods that can thin blood for five days before treatment. This includes alcohol and pain medication (e.g. Advil, Aleve, and Aspirin).
